BRIEF HISTORY

House on the Rock was founded in December 1994 by Pastor Paul A. Adefarasin in Lagos, Nigeria. The ministry was established to be a vanguard 21st century Church with a vision of empowering believers for the fulfillment of their God-ordained destinies. Since its’ inception the Church has grown far beyond the borders of Lagos, with over 40 daughter Churches and missions in Nigeria and across the globe.

The Refuge is a daughter Church of House on the Rock with headquarters in Lagos. It was birthed in September 1999. The Refuge is a springboard for strategic ministry in the northern region of Nigeria and beyond.

The Refuge is a place where everybody can be somebody! It is truly a refuge from the harsh world we live in; a place where the word of God is preached without hypocrisy or guile, but in honesty, faith and power.

OUR BELIEFS 

 

  • We believe that the bible is the inspired ( God breathed ) infallible ( all true ) and inerrant (without error or contradiction) Word of God. It is the supreme and final authority in faith and practice.
  • We believe in the trinity; one God who exists in three distinct persons; Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and Savior of the world.
  • We believe Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross and on the third day He rose triumphant over death.
  • We believe that there is no other name given that man should be saved by but the name of Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again.

Our Purpose:
Our purpose is to reach a hurting and dying generation with Jesus’ message of hope and compassion, into becoming Christ-like, releasing them to fulfil their God-ordained destinies in Church and in life as God’s instrument for reaching and touching our world, in order to bring Jesus glory.

Our Mission:
Our Mission is to build lives for life with the word of God.

Our Vision:
Our vision is to see men become all God has destined for them to become, raising a formidable generation of intercessors that will bring heaven to bear on earth, raising leaders to lead this generation and the next into their promised land.

Paul Adefarasin

An Author, Motivator and Conference speaker, Paul Adefarasin is one of the most respected and sought-after ministers in Nigeria. His weekly television programme “SOMETHING IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN!” is broadcast into millions of homes across Africa and Europe. <

Paul Adefarasin is well known for his clear message of hope, healing and empowerment. He is widely regarded as a visionary leader and bridge-builder. His ability to transcend Race, Tribe and Creed with his unique approach to ministry has seen to the forging of many strategic relationships between the church and secular communities in Africa.

Ifeanyi Adefarasin

Pastor Ifeanyi is the Co-Pastor of The House On The Rock. She is also the Founder of Woman To Woman Ministry, which is committed to social reformation, education, provision of healthcare and relief work amongst the downtrodden and underprivileged in Nigeria and West Africa.

Pastor Ifeanyi has a burning passion to see the empowerment of women in her generation, her nation and her continent. A Mentor and Coach, Pastor Ifeanyi is a greatly respected minister and conference speaker in much demand at home and abroad. She is well known for her clear and practical message of hope and empowerment.

Pastor Uche Aigbe

Uche Aigbe

Pastor Uche Aigbe is a seasoned Pastor with over 29 years of pastoral experience, increasing responsibility in congregational leadership, spiritual counselling and mentorship.

A motivator, expository teacher and transformational leader. His is a licensed minister of the Rock Foundation Ministry and prior to becoming the Lead Pastor of House on the Rock - Abuja, a daughter church of House on the Rock headquartered in Lagos, Uche Aigbe, served as the Senior Associate Pastor of House On The Rock - Abuja for well over Eighteen years.

Under his leadership, "The Refuge" has flourished, blossomed and risen to become a beacon of excellence in the city of Abuja.

He has a sincere commitment to serve the church of Christ in whatever capacity that is required of him and his vision is to raise a generation of people that truly love and are passionate about God, worship and service. He resides in Abuja with his wife Chichi Aigbe and their 2 lovely children.
